No, I'm planning on carrying Hornady Critical Defense, 135gr standard pressure. I like the forced expansion in the bullet design, which makes me feel better about the caliber and the load's suitability for year-round carry (I'll be living in the foothills of a mountain range: coats will be common).
I might carry 147gr Federal HST in the Spring and Summer, but I don't know if the difference matters enough to have two carry loads. -

Hi Robstafarian,
I'm not a gun guru nor a CCW specialist by any means but I wanted to weigh in on a couple of your assumptions.
You're accuracy in combat will not necessarily suck if you get good training and practice. Pistol shooting is very much muscle memory and if you develop good habits in the beginning it will go a long way. I'm not arguing against your desire for a higher capacity magazine but if that is the only determining factor in what you choose then carry another magazine and practice your reloads.
If you train appropriately you will not pull the trigger until the magazine is empty. You will shoot the way you train so focus your training at the 3-7 meter mark. You should practice drawing from concealed and firing an accelerated pair. If that is how you train that is how you will shoot regardless of your level of fear.
Invest in some Snap-Caps and dry fire every day when you can't get to the range. Remember when you train that slow=smooth and smooth=fast.
Best of luck -

This is generally true; there will be a slight deficit in fine-motor skills, but the muscle-memory from repetition will bring you through.
I run through this on the simulator (plugging LaserShot) as often as I can. It is great practice.
More great advice; Snap-Caps work great for dry-firing (great practice), also working on malfunction drills.
If it has Tires or Tits, expect problems.
