I mean what experience level are the competitors supposed to be?

There was such a small amount of teens that they merged them together. The kid in the second match has been training for four years and the only reason he wasn't a purple belt is because he was underage. He took like 4 gold medals this tournament.

Yeah, I figured it was either something like that or he was sandbagging.

What exactly is sandbagging?

Lying about your skill level so you can fight people with less skill thus making you look like an asshole when you get found out.!

Oh yeah well considering what everyone says about him I wouldn't be surprised if he would do that.....he seemed like he had a huge ego. He had a very interesting match with a crippled chinese kid and the Chinese kid ended up winning...I wish I recorded it. But the Kid who lost seemed very pissed to lose to him.

Sandbagging is often not done by the participant, but is done by the coaches. The coaches who will say they are preserving the purity of their art by not promoting people until they are absolutely sure they are of the level to be promoted. Fine, in theory, but you get people like my mate who is a brown belt in Judo and only just got his blue belt in BJJ after years of training. No-one in the white belt division stood a chance when he was a four stripe, as he was probably closer to a purple belt than white. It looks great for him, the coach and the school, but really it's a dick thing.
GET A RED BELT OR DIE TRYIN'.

I don't think that kid was sandbagging though he's just really good....He even took silver in the mens blue belt division. How a 14 year old got in there is beyond me, but whatever the kid is just damn good.
