That doesn't really answer his question.

My point is how it looks is more important than how it works in these styles. I think that in most cases, that's why they moved towards jumping, flying techniques.

I thought that was your point. I'm disagreeing because they have had Jumping and flying kicks, in old manuals, before it became about flash and trophies. The increase in flash and number of techniques may have increases for the wow factor, but doesn't explain why they appeared before that was an important factor.

I don't think it matters how old it is. If you find a manual with a picture of someone doing XMA 500 years ago, doesn't mean anyone was actually using it to fight.

Unless you know something I don't. What manuals are we talking about?

    Where are you going?

Yeah we aren't on the same page. You are inferring effectiveness and fighting. I am taking his question at face value.

There used to be dragons. Can't kick a dragon in the head without a flashy jump kick. End of story.

The best weapons training I've ever had came through a story as told by a past BJJ coach.

My coach was telling this story, he says. "So I get in this fight with this dude and I take care of him when out comes his friend. This guy is fucking huge. He's like 6'5" must weigh like 350lbs and he's got a baseball bat and comes at me........ I fucking ran. That guy was huge, no way he was going to catch me. **** no I'm not going to take on a guy with a baseball bat, that's fucking stupid."

Hey upvote my comment on youtube about the kicking people off of horse crap. I'm WhiteShark27 there. My comment is at the top. I keep getting hate mail because I didn't deep throat and swallow every hot ounce of Lloyd's knowledge.
