Nope, except for small competitions and an argument could be made for the Olympics. I'd also argue that a title that states 2012 Olympic boxing is going to contain spoilers. You know because the Olympics is an ongoing event.

They last thing I read was they haven't adjusted to the scoring system. The ammy Olympic boxing has gone downhill since the change. They argue it is completely different style as pro boxing.

Did anyone see the Ali Mazaheri fight? I know clinching is illegal in ammy boxing but I thought that rule was universally ignored.

Not this year. The American got put back in, after being eliminated, because of that rule.

That was kind of my thought, if badly expressed. Anyway, I didn't mean to ruin anyone's enjoyment of it so I apologise if I did. For future ref, how do spoiler tags?

Good thing that decision was over turned, but it's not good to have it keep happening. Mind you, there have been appeals in several other sports so maybe it's not just a boxing thing. Any sport that relies on judging is going to have it's controversies, but then what else do you do?

Whatever the result, there are some great skills on display and it is interesting to try and pick future pro stars from it. That will get clearer as the field narrows and I really quite excited that I have tickets to the final on the 11th; I'll try and do a proper write up of that.

Don't worry unless it is an already completed event without a thread. Just put the word "spoiler" in the title. Also, the Staff usually adds "spoiler" because most threads are started well before the actual event.

True, but there is an issue when it is so large of an occurrence in one event.

I hated those until 8 years ago. As bad as those were, you NEVER saw this much Bullshit. Hell, most of the bad officiating came in the medal matches.

No worries. These CNBC commentators are even worse. I turned on one of the episodes I taped and the first fucking thing they say is "Diaz Jr and Hunter lose and we'll be showing you these fights later in the day," all the while playing highlights of the fuckers they fought beating their asses. Fml.
