has anyone else been surprised by the amount of guard work being used? i even think i saw some de la riva guard being used against standing opponents. i also saw quite a few standing guard passes, and was surprised that the refs gave time for the standing pass to be effective or for the standing player to be swept.
i was under the impression that if one player stood up, the ref would just call matte immediately."Face punches are an essential character building part of a martial art. You don't truly love your children unless you allow them to get punched in the face." - chi-conspiricy

So Densign White (BJA Chairman) decides to start shifting blame for under-performance onto the players while some of them have still to compete? Classy move. Hope his head rolls extra hard when Sport England start asking where their £7.5m went.
