Again with the brainwashed thinking the cops can do anything for you.

    They cant.

Why in the world do you think they can?

Average wait times in the major citys in usually 30-40 minutes.

Think you are going to be alive?

    Wake up.

You need to protect yourself and your family and community as no one else can.

People need to wake up and realize there would be less crime if more people stood up for themselves and fought back against the POS/Criminals.

    Just like this one:
I highly doubt that having a bunch of untrained civilians shooting back while blind from tear gas against an attacker with a bullet proof vest and an assault rifle would have done much for the situation.

I'm not suggesting they should have employed armed guards,
    uhmm...
Now if the theater had employed armed guards, maybe I could see that point.

Sorry, but it can be construed that way.

I have seen some of the idiots using CC and yes I'm saying I would rather a cop protect me than most of them.
The cops were not there and the shooting occurred before they arrived. So, you may have been one of the 12 killed or 38 injured when they finally showed up.

Go ahead, and do what you do best; assumptions. Here I'll start:
Untrained people would have killed more innocents. Oh wait you already implied this scenario my bad.

Not to sound insensitive, but <600 deaths across the US and Europe since 1913 is a pretty insignificant number compared to pretty much any other cause of death you'd want to mention. I wouldn't call it disturbingly common, I mean, Detroit alone typically manages over half of that in homicides in a single year.

I feel horrible about these people, but to think that this can "never happen to me or to my community" is just plain stupid. People choosing to be like this is beyond me.

This would never happen in armed states.

Sorry but Colorado needs to rethink banning citizens from protecting themselves. The Popo cannot help you.

If I had a private business open to the public, I think I would avoid any comment on permitted weapons and not set a policy, just follow local law. I have no idea how these scenarios would work out either way.

That's why he SPECIFICALLY said SPREE KILLING. He is purposely pointing out that "WOW spree killing is rising."

Missed my point. Was (obtusely/sarcastically) demonstrating that these things are a common enough (comparatively) across the whole first world; and that America is not unique or exceptional in any category other than number of incidents (high) and severity (low).

Fake: Sort of. I was surprised to find out how common it was outside the US. I really thought we'd be the worst. We are not even exceptional.
And lo, Kano looked down upon the field and saw the multitudes. Amongst them were the disciples of Uesheba who were greatly vexed at his sayings. And Kano spake: "Do not be concerned with the mote in thy neighbor's eye, when verily thou hast a massive stick in thine ass".

Would you prefer a CC civilian now to a cop in 20 minutes, when ****'s going down now?

Yes. Clearly, the problem here was that not enough guns were present.
    The fool thinks himself immortal,
    If he hold back from battle;
But old age will grant him no truce,
    Even if spears spare him.
