This one time I was in a circle pit at a Necromantix concert and broke my patella. Missed three months of BJJ and tried to go back. The wire in my knee gives me problems with all the kneeling and time on knees. My injury happened a year ago in september my leg strength is nearly back and my knee is 75%-80% but I can't deal with pressure directly on the knee and kneeling, I doubt i'll ever be able to throw a knee strike with the injured knee. When I can afford to get the wire out maybe I can resume BJJ. So basically a mosh pit has ruined my BJJ prospects for now I'm focusing on FMA.

I didn't mean to imply that there's anything wrong with taking time for yourself to train. Just saying that if you're willing sometimes to blow off something you love to invest in your family, that's praiseworthy in my book. Personally, I wish I wasn't so selfish with my time.
Edit: I quoted the wrong post and I ain't gonna fix it.

Apologies for the necro but I've got a pretty dumb one here.

Got to work to discover that my lunch burst open in my bag, so all my training clothes and my gloves are soaked with oxtail soup.

    Both lame, and disgusting.

My car had done 186,000 miles. I thought it was going to be good for 200,000. Turns out it wasn't. On the way to training last week something "went" in the turbo, causing it to suck all the oil out of the sump and send it out through the exhaust in an apocalyptic cloud of smoke. It pulled a few bits of random metal through the pistons for good measure and then the engine seized.

Upshot of all this was I ended up stood on the side of a dual carriageway in a rashguard, tight shorts and groin guard when the RAC (recovery vehicle) arrived. I missed training. I was still dressed the same way an hour later when I drove the courtesy car away from the garage.
