This is a style founded by Seiyu Oyata. It a style of karate that is supposed to be closer to the orignial TE roots as well as differnt practices around Okinawa. Unfortunately its also a style that George Dillman likes to rip off since a lot of his material comes from there.______

Gezere said pretty much the same stuff I know about it. From what I have read on a blog of an instructor in Kansas City, they do not seem to advocate sparring or live drills, but that may just be how I read it--I haven't heard anyone say that Oyata's techniques didn't work. The instructor whose blog I read seems very, very elitist, and so if that carries over into the rest of the students you may want to keep that in mind.
