I'm going to post this here:
And then I'm going to say that Thomas Jane not only made a better Punisher movie on his own than all three attempts (including his own feature) so far, but at the same time gave Hollywood a pretty decent primer for making a Jack Reacher movie too.
Dear Hollywood -- You don't know better than the fans. Stop "improving" things.
Despite the fact I am still utterly pissed that Jack Reacher is being played by the diminutive pretty boy cult leader...

You'll go without me to this one. I refuse to spend money on Tom Cruise.

"Okay, he doesn't look exactly right," Child finally admitted. "But he sure does act like Reacher." He went on to say that demand is only one side of the equation. There's also supply to consider. "People are acting as if we marched past vast legions of 6'5", 250-pound actors," he says. "Nobody looks like that in Hollywood."
Tom Cruise is 5'7"
So maybe Child is right, there aren't a lot of 6'5" 250lbs actors in Hollywood. But really, which of these two men looks more like the kind of rugged bruiser Jack Reacher is?
Trivia: Thomas Jane is a Baltimore, Maryland native. That's right, The Punisher is from Baltimore! And, he was in the original Buffy The Vampire Slayer movie, so he's Joss Whedon approved.
Oh, and this just became my new desktop background:
Three weeks ago, I saw the Jack Reacher movie.
