Watched the main card too. Riddle's match was decent, but otherwise it was quite the snoozer. The cards should have been swapped around, the undercard was really entertaining.
Curiosity killed the cat. But damn it had a blast.

Man, people are really spoiled, whiney brats. I thought the only really boring fights were the Boetch-Lombard dance-off and the Kongo-n00b hugfest on the fence. Honestly. The main event wasn't fucking mind-blowing, but it was entertaining (spinning back kick to the face much?).

The problem with those fights is they were well matched. Both were supposed to be "all out wars", but if you think about it in terms of style matchups, they weren't slated to be that entertaining. When 2 heavy handed strikers clash, odds are they are going to be tentative about the striking, lest one make a mistake and lose. They are paid to win, not to entertain. Much like when two high level wrestlers are fighting, they tend not to turn it into a wrestling match with any degree of success. Weidman-Munoz being one particular exception, but that was ended on the feet if you remember.

Most of the fights tonight kicked the **** out of UFC 148. I think the Barao-Faber fight was really entertaining (for someone who appreciates strategy), and showed a more measured and technical approach from Barao, and it got him the victory.

Like I said earlier the main event would not have been as bad without the other two stinking the place out. The hype packages and the buzz was for an event that would blow our socks off - and it just did not deliver at all. With the cheapest seats in the nose bleeders costing 300 or so you can see why the crowd got antsy

Now I would never boo a fighter personally because they are putting their assess on the line and basically owe me dick all. However, I cannot be asked to be interested in tedious matches. UFC may have an issue selling themselves to Calgary again...then again a bigger name fight and who knows?

FWIW I had a good night out overall

Zzzzzzz wow what a weak card.

Unimpressive debut by hector and Barao and Faber negated each other.

I only saw Lombard vs Boetsch and Faber vs Barao. I quite enjoyed the interim title fight, it wasn't a fight of the year or anything, but it was solid. Lombard looked awful though, holy ****.

****, what a brutal KO on Perosh. I was really looking forward to another awesome win for him. From what I read he stepped up for HW for this one from LHW because the other fighter had to back out, or something?

Took advantage of his really low left and just a solid power hit on the Jaw. Yet to catch the other fights.
Daniel: I don't know if I know enough karate.

    Miyagi: Feeling correct.

Daniel: You sure know how to make a guy feel confident.

Miyagi: You trust the quality of what you know, not quantity.

I haven't spoken to him yet, but it looks like he really misread the range. Fucked up so that right hand landed on the jaw with full power. Practically didn't get a chance to fight.

Man, Kongo's ground game fucking sucks. He was clinching but not kneeing, trying to grapple with what looked like remedial skills (some of the mistakes he made like attempting to take the back were novice), wasn't he all about clinch and kneeing into oblivion or am I remembering that wrong?

My friend and I were discussing that very thing. You are a top tier fighter so how fucking complicated is it to actually spend some time with a decent grappling coach?

Our other theory was that he does actually do this, but his physical size patches holes in his game and he gets away with it against smaller training partners/coaches

Or he could just suck of course.....

    You don't say?

He is all about accidently kicking people in the balls.
