    Hell yeah! Hell no!

Your ten best albums of all time

This is a tough one. It's so tough I'm making my font purple, to really channel the appointed-by-god Royal choice grade A albums.

Gentlemen, and occasional lady...your best ten albums of all time. If you're having too much trouble, do a genre. No use in starting ten thousand threads by style. Besides, that should give this thread some legs.

Do your favorite albums, and then come back and post the top ten from your favorite genre.

WIN....fuckin tiger's blood and Adonis kilobytes.

    I'll start (obviously):

    In no particular order (yet):

    • Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd
    • Rumours - Fleetwood Mac
    • The Final Cut - Pink Floyd
    • Led Zeppelin 3 - Led Zeppelin
    • The Wall - Pink Floyd
    • Operation Mindcrime - Queensryche
    • Frampton Comes Alive - Peter Frampton
    • Timepieces - Eric Clapton
    • Live in Cook County Jail - BB King
    • Live at Sing Sing - BB King

There are so many I had to leave out, but tonight, that's my list. Let's see yours. Let the games begin.

I could do ten of these, which I eventually intend to.

Honorary mentions (really a 2nd list) of the moment:

    • BB King and Bobby Bland: Live together for the 1st time.
    • Etta James - Mystery Lady
    • The Beatles - Abbey Road
    • The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper
    • Miles Davis - Kind of Blue
    • Miles Davis - Ballads and Blues
    • Red Hot Chilliiiili Peppers - By The Way
    • Metallica - The Black Album
    • Black Sabbath - Paranoid
    • Buddy Holly - Buddy Holly

Damn, this is gonna be hard to nail down.

It may appear I have a very "bro" taste in music, but I can assure you that I am a muso, formerly a singer and have a massive and diverse taste in music. It's just that my favourites are hard hitting sounds. I like it heavy, either in content or delivery.

No shame in that. People gravitate to what fills their need, at some moment.

I've been hanging at the fire pit, a good bit of late, and American country, and Irish Rebel songs and Irish folk are mostly what we've been listening to. That's the power of music...there's something for every setting. keep going. We haven't grazed the surface.

**** me. This is impossible and I'd probably make a different list every day of the week. Plus I can't help but be influenced by the previously mentioned albums when I see them and think, "Oooh yeah. That's a good one." I'll play anyway.

    Appetite for Destruction
    Back in Black
The Dark Side of the Moon
    Evil Empire
    Are You Experienced
    Master of Puppets
    Paranoid
    Doggystyle
    Texas Flood
    Straight Outta Compton
    Licensed to Ill
    Pronounced Leh-nerd Skin-nerd

    That's ten, right?

No particular order. To be in my top ten, every track has to be a gem and the whole thing a unique experience from start to finish...no skipping around like the ipod generation loves to do.

    - Master of Reality, Sabbath
    - Appetite for Destruction, GnR
    - Dark Side of the Moon, PF
    - The Wall, PF
    - Dirt, Alice in Chains
    - Badmotorfinger, Soundgarden
    - And Justice For All, Metallica
    - It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back, Public Enemy
    - The Doors, The Doors
    - 10th slot reserved for any of the first four Led Zeppelin albums, depending on my mood
    - 11th slot added for any Motorhead album ever made, because Lemmy is God and cannot possibly be contained within any top ten list.

To accommodate Lemmy's awesome presence, it must go to 11.
