    Hell yeah! Hell no!
Its a simple situation where people with no experience outside of the US completely show their ass. People always want to have an opinion without earning the right, the result being a blatant display of ignorance...some people seem to not want to understand anything outside of their daily bubble unless is serves societal popularism. I can at least respect people with opposing views if they are passionate about it and make sense....if you want to argue you believe constitutionally protecting people who misrepresent themselves in this manner is commensurate with the First Amendment...there is little to I can do to change your mind, and I can at least respect that. But regurgitating words you heard a few days ago with no base of knowledge is simply ill advised.

Unless you've actually lived in American military society, you have no clue to be commenting with.

American civilian society is not militarized in any way, shape, or form. Civilians and foreigners can shut the **** up.

My only regret is that I could only like this post once.

Although I have not lived in military society, and I agree we do not have a militarized society, I will pass on getting your permission to have an opinion on military issues. They are kind of important, especially to civilians.

I didn't say you don't get to have an opinion. I just said it was probably going to be completely inaccurate and you would be better served by keeping it to yourself.

The First Amendment says you have the right to free speech. It doesn't mean you should speak.

You guys just stole all my valor.

I will throw out an opposing opinion. I am okay with the Stolen Valor act being repealed for one simple reason: It is still a lot of fun coming up with creative ways to publicly embarrass military frauds. As a caveat, I do not consider people bragging about being Special Ops Cool Guys (or whatever else) at bars to be frauds. People that draw my ire are those who go to the effort of putting on real uniforms and/or otherwise skirt that gray area that is difficult to prosecute with already existing laws relating to ill gotten gains obtained via fraudulent means.

Ok. Just touchy on that issue.

Under Title 18 Sect.702 its been a federal offense to actually wear uniforms/medals for a long time...the feds just never really prosecute it.

The stolen valor act ammended the section with this:

    http://www.macvsog.cc/stolen_valor_act.htm

So now simply SAYING you are a CMOH holder became a crime...while I am a Vet and a despiser of military frauds, this does sound like a 1st amendment issue. As distasteful as it is.
