The firsts 3 months training will be once a night, 5 days a week, which won't affect work for me. But the last 3 months will be twice a day, five days a week, so I'm going to have to take extended leave without pay, or even potentially leave my job to do this.
This is pretty unique opportunity though, so if I have to quit work to do it, I will.
I think a couple of them have a fair bit of MA experience, but whatever.
4 main coaches - Richie Cranny who has had a couple of MMA fights, Rachel Guy who is one of the most sought after strength and conditioning coaches in Australia (apparently), Michael McSeveny, another pro MMAist, and Marc Gehret, whom I'm unfamiliar with. We'll also have Fabio Glazer as a instructor for BJJ - other than being a black-belt, I don't know much about him either.
Sydney - the Gym (Platinum Extreme) is located in North Sydney.
I found out about this show through Brace on Facebook, and the entire cast selection was done through Facebook. They've said if this show is successful they'll do more seasons in different cities, so there is opportunities to give it a go in the future. -

how are they gonna do the weight divisions etc? i would assume they would try and match you up at the start, but if one guy loses a lot of weight through the training and the other doesnt, what happens then?

I'm not sure, and it's something I'm kinda of worried about actually. From what I've seen so far, I'm easily the biggest chap on the show, and if some of the other fatter blokes lose some weight, they may find it hard to match me up with someone. I'm not sure if any of the other contestants would really be "heavyweight" if they lost some fat.
Although, for all I know, I might end up being around the 100 kilo mark anyway - I could drop to light heavy, or someone could just not bother cutting weight. It's all a bit too far in the future to know for sure, but it's something that concerns me. -
