I taught myself Indian clubs, or rather, they taught themselves to me. I taught myself how to ride a skateboard and how to push it using a homemade land-oar.

Fighting, on the other hand, is a 2 person endeavor, so to practice in earnest, a partner is best.

Why not just get a heavy bag instead of these old-school kung fu movie shenanigans?

I agree with the heavy bag rather than tire, and abandon the broom stick idea. What is your training background? You list striking, so have you already trained in some striking art? If so, why not just do heavy bag workouts with what you know, and then find someone to spar with occasionally?

I have a heavy bag, but I nowhere to hang that ****. I'm serious. It's fucked up, but there is no space. My background is kung fu x4yrs, muay thai, jiujitsu x 1 year, boxing x ~3, in that order.

If you already have training in a martial art that is at least somewhat similar, you can self teach yourself a bunch of stuff from other arts without a real teacher by watching videos and reading books.

Hell, the only reason the teacher at the Krav Maga place I just started at was so impressed my first day was because I had watched a ton of Krav videos and read and krav book while training Taekwondo.

I too first learned boxing combos from Bas Rutten. I still use his workout Cd in the mornings for cardio. Good luck question!

Yeah, but I never sanda throwed a ************ before. That **** is going to be new. Also, I haven't previously used sidekicks in sparring or fights. But I do lots of that **** because it's easier on the knees than roundkicking the air.
