Starting kyokushin

Hi I am a 3rd kyu brown belt in shotokan karate and have two years of kick boxing and minimal bjj. I have always enjoyed full contact and love shotokan karate kata and all but I have been looking at kyokushin as something I would like to try and see how it is any advice I can get from the other Kyokushin karate-ka or other stylist I'm curious I plan to continue my shotokan and hope to join my college's judo club at some point but would like to try kyokushin and possibly train as a supplement to my shotokan.
So in short any tips for training or dojo in the oregon and Washington state?

Looking at kyokushin it looks very similar to our kihon a few differences

Ive always wanted to try out kyokishin. Have fun! You're used to knockdown sparring?

With gloves and shin guards from kickboxing and some no glove with a sempei at the dojo, but it will be a new experience and lucky for me I have some "extra padding" but that is a work in progress lol

gotta love it The gut will probably be the worst opponent we all will ever face lol, but I'm looking a round a couple dojo in the area and they are pretty affordable but I haven't seen them train yet so I wanna go and see but If anyone has any other dojo or clubs they know about in the area.

Look for a Daido juku dojo. It involves elements of everything you want in one form. Don't know how prevalent they are in the states though.

heard of daido looks really cool but yeah I think there is one school in like New York but I have to check. Yes New York is the place.

If not that, I'm sure you could find a good MMA school that has elements of everything you want. There, you'll have to settle for no belts and the occasional injuries. (primarily to the face)

Yeah A good gym would be nice and I sure the're a few in the area, have thought of it and maybe after I earn my shodan I will always been with my karate club so many good friends and some of the best training in the area, its little club a great atmosphere my sensei runs it basically at cost we all donate equipment and the dues are only 45 a month for 4 training a week about two hours a class.
I'm rambleing sorry but I like the idea of building off of my karate base, and I think Randy Coture has a quest gym in Portland that is topnotch.
