I can understand biting as a last resort option, certainly if I felt my life was in danger, I wouldn't hesitate. I also saw that clip from the Enigma that was quoted. I agree with Vunak that if you are on top, and wanted to end things real quick, biting is more effective than hitting. Any time you hit, you open yourself up to a counter. Closing the gap and biting like Vunak shows would confuse and injure the other guy badly.
Rewatch the clips of Tyson biting Holyfields ear. Remember Holyfield's nickname-The Warrior-and watch how the biting totally shocks his system and takes the fight right out of him.
Also, I think there's plenty of circumstances in life that people overcome that require far more courage than competing in MMA. There are "fighters" in everyday life-cancer victims, the poverty-stricken, hungry, abuse victims, single mothers/fathers trying to raise a family-those people are the real fighters in my book.
If you want to call Vunak a fighter or not is really irrelevant. From what I heard back in the day, he liked to start fights in order to test himself. Although I don't think that's particularly brave, it certainly qualifies him as a fighter of some kind. -

It very well could.
Here is my take: Vu is tolerated by folks for a while and they leave him or they get in a fight. It is all Dysfunctional Family 101 time after time after time. I know my instructors stopped associating with him for personal reasons. I only met the man once--he was impressive for sure.
But this video certainly is...er...different. Too bad he didn't prepare a statement and read it. I mean, it is NOT a good thing to talk about who you want to bang and who's butt you wish to break your foot off into on a taped statement. Having said that, at least he was very honest.
Question: which is weirder? Marlon Brando's character in "Apocalypse Now" or The Vu in this video?SEANBABY:
