If you had the time to only do either weightlifting OR martial arts, which would you do and why?
As a busy post-secondary student, although I did practice martial arts before, I don't have time to do both anymore but would like to still be able to defend myself against big bad guys.

Depends...which martial arts are available to you? If it's only TKD or tai chi, go for the weightlifting.

I choose weight lifting because.........
1. I could already out grapple and definately out strike any and a lot of trained people.
Therefore I was confident in my skills to a certain extent.
2. I wanted to gain weight, heal up my joints, and get stronger.
Gym dooes that better than the JJJ class I went to and the rolling after.
Not that I had any REALLY good instructionals at U anyways.

Which one have you taken most recently Doggy? WT or MA? If your schedule allows for 1 day intervals (for rest), I'd suggest keeping up with WT and investigating either Hypertrophy Specifig Training or else some Strength Training Program. If you have time in consecutive days, I'd suggest doing whatever MA (Kickboxing) you do. I myself am going to attempt to do both after this Tuesday's exam. BJJ and Weight's , though I'm probably gonna stop going to Ryerson gym and go closer to home at Agincourt Center for weights. And I'm getting schooled like a pig tailed girl at BJJ so I'm gonna keep it up.
