The dental hygiene thing is really commendable. The real reason you hate your mother has to do with her sheltering you. My mother encouraged me to seek out jezebels and to learn from them.

Instead of being a deadly sin, Aristotle considered pride (Greek: "megalopsychia")to be a great virtue (Some scholars argue that he considered it the supreme virtue. In NE IV.7 he called it the crown of the virtues). But it is a very specific form of pride. Aristotle says in NE IV.3: "The man is thought to be [megalopsychos] who thinks himself worthy of great things, being worthy of them." So the megalopsychic man thinks himself to be supremely awesome because he is in fact supremely awesome.

That is like a high-yield investment on what is either an inflated ego or a serious mental health issue.

Whose place is it to say when a healthy ego crosses the line and becomes inflated or when it becomes a "mental health issue?" It's just a matter of opinion. Being different or having more pride than the next man doesn't mean you're ill.

Has really nothing to do with that. Most Narcissist that I know of, tend to see themselves in the best lights. They usually are in denial of their behavior and after I saw your mom comment I might actually believe that you are.

The truth of the matter is that I've not done any true clinical work on the subject and usually concede to a colleague that has a Phd in Psychology, specializing in the area of children education. Usually when I spout out my psychological babble I make a basic assessment then I send it to her so she can tell me if I'm off in right field or something along that line.

I started taking the Narcissism test and ended up on an ADHD test that said yes, in fact you probably do have ADHD due to your very high score. HIGH SCORE! I'm off to ride bikes!
