More like they way they are taught is better or worse. I agree, you go to a typical TKD school it will probably produce less capable fighters than a muay thai school. But in general most arts have very similar moves. Look in the UFC for example, and you have guys using TKD, guys using Muay thai, and guys with karate. There is even a kickboxing shaolin monk now ( go youtube it ). But when you watch them fight, you'd have to actually be a trained martial artist to see the difference in their movements.

It is always the art not the artist. Who cares what one person can do with ANY art. Before I put any time or money into an art I want to see what most people get out of it. Especially average people. This is a much better indicator than an individual badass when deciding if I will benefit from the training.
