Shrugs are good. "Benching" weight with the neck is good apparently (but needs to be done with caution.)

Or you could be like me and be born with an abnormally big bony skull. That helps!

I go on and on and ON about how brave and strong and brilliant and wealthy I am, but in the end I'm all mouth and no trousers.

Yes, through persistent lack of work and the cultivation of ignorance, he is a true American.

Here's a different way to do shrugs (hits at a different angle for additional bulk) - I usually start with 135, 3 sets of 20. Then 185, 3 sets of 15. Then to 225, for 3 sets of ten:

Use a straight bar with an overhand grip. Stand about a foot from the wall, feet at shoulder width. Lean forward, and rest your foreheard against the wall, allowing your arms to fall perpendicular to the ground. (do this carefully, making sure your neck is in line with your spine).

    Now:
1st set - up with the front of the shoulder, and back down the same way.
2nd set - up with the rear of the shoulder, and back down the same way.
3rd set - up with the front, over, and down with the back. (alternate with reverse)

Note: check with your dr before starting. I checked with mine, and he said it was okay.

    btw - neck used to be 21" (@ 5'10", 220#)

Or, when you can't button the top TWO buttons on a dress shirt that's already two sizes too big.

Get a head harness and hook it to your car bumper and start pulling.
