    Hahaha, except that on average, a rugby player is twice the size of an AFL player so twice as much force is required to have the same effect in a rugby tackle than in an AFL shoulder charge. Notwithstanding frequency of course, where an AFL player would be unlucky to receive one big hit in every game, where say a union forward would take a hit that hard at least once for every minute of play. ;-p

    Exactly. Now it's very possible, on average, that they are the pound for pound STRONGEST athletes of any team sport, but "toughest" is a bit nebulous for anyone to lay claim on.
