What? What does "position before submission" have to do with it? Why would the ref warn you for a scissor choke or a mounted gogoplata or indeed any other perfectly legal choke? The only illegal choke in sport BJJ is closing the trachea with your hand.

Unless you're saying that Belgians have invented some even more needlessly restrictive rules for wacky reasons of their own?

And what does any of the above have to do with his question, which is whether it's a legit move that works in no-gi grappling?
    It's a scissor choke guys
Ahh, that makes a lot more sense.

I am still thinking different to that. And just posting to be right or wrong for the record.

Now it is just the tense waiting.

Rather than having their neck on your knee shouldn't you be aiming to have their neck above your knee (i.e. inner thigh) to get the choke on/increase the leverage?

if I was doing it with 2 legs
I wasn't really trying to do that scissor choke there, I did the choke with one leg and used the other leg to try to hold the guy down

I've gotten noobs to tap to the most ridiculous things you can think of. I've passed noobs guards by essentially front flipping over them.

    Tapping noobs means dick all.

The fact that you think that this makes the move relevant is an indication of your inexperience in the sport. I say this not to be mean, but to give you some outside perspective.

When a move has worked 100 times against various body types and other students at least at, or preferably above, your skill level then you can start thinking about informing other people about it.
Shut the hell up and train.
