    Hell yeah! Hell no!

    Knife fightin.

Just a video about fantasy vs reality of such things. Nicely demonstrates it. Hopefully isn't a repost. Got it off a video game site.

    knife isn't an instant win.
in this video the guy with the knife is super agressive and the other guy does nothing, first thing he should do is hoof him in the balls
practice live action with a rubber knife, if your good you can usually get it off the guy half the time before you get stabbed

Just curious, what knife-wielding attackers don't fit your definition of "super aggressive?"

a lot of muggers are desparate and don't really want to be muggers, these kind won't really attack like that. Just depends on the frame of mind.
Either way he will be focused on stabbing your torso, hoof him and run.

I'm pretty sure the point of the video will continue to elude you for some time.

no very clearly the point of the video is to say that martial art knife defences don't work
but any decent martial artist will tell you disarming isn't really necessary if you can run away.

plus some krav disarms are battle tested its better to know them than knowing nothing...

So, groin kick, then? Is there a specific method to the KM groin kick that makes it more effective than when used by practitioners of other arts?

yes, first of all they actually practice it... but that isn't the whole krav maga disarm anyways.

I could say "So, leg kick, then? Is there a specific method to the Muay Thai leg kick that makes it more effective than when used by practitioners of other arts?"

its the same thing, but because MMA supporters usually like to pretend krav maga and actual self defence arts are useless of course everyone will disagree with me. If you are curious how some of their knife defences work, look up a video or go to a school that isn't a mcdojo.
