Hmmm, I would've guessed that Jones had a posse with someone who could drive.

When you are over the legal limit of .08 there is no guarantee you will feel it. Driver beware! Think about what you drank not how you feel. This maybe the issue. Any info on what the test result was?

From the fighters.com article:

The fighter’s mother is reported to have bailed him out of jail after the incident.

That alone should guarantee that he'll never make the same mistake again.

Stupid act on his part, yes.
But the media and general public's overreaction to these things is equally stupid in my opinion.
He's an athlete, not a saint.

I agree with what people are saying, I think I just failed at my point (too tired to coherently put together my own thoughts); OZZ does a good job at what I was trying to make a point of.

And of course, if you ever thought you were over the limit, don't drive at all, find another way. He had the money to buy a robot car to drive him (probably from Google) so he could have for sure.

I know nothing about the law but to me that seems absurd. Was there any scientific literature which contained statistics indicting chapstick may cause a false high reading? Or proposed chemical mechanism for how chapstick could affect the reading? If not I do not want to live on this planet any more.

No sir, that is why he was able to prove reasonable doubt. We couldn't prove otherwise.

Isn't the word "reasonable" in there to prevent this? Don't judges have power to stop attorneys from creating "unreasonable" doubt?

I wouldn't say Jones is a bad person based on one DUI. Just inexperienced and a bit dense. Now if he gets more DUI's, then he's more than a "bit' dense.
