Franco 39 years, the EU is 19 years old. You reckon the EU will last another 20 years? I mean once the Euro goes and Britain leaves, probably followed by one if not two countries?
I will concede that there might be a rump EU in 2032 - France, Germany, Benelux and Denmark, perhaps.
But an EU with the current 27 member states, not a chance. -

As perfect and succinct a demonstration of the arrogance and profound ignorance of the technocratic Europhiles as you'll ever see at 2.23.
An MEP laughing and shaking her head when being told that Soviet Russia was the greatest threat to European peace post 1945 and that American troops ensured that that peace wasn't broken.
To believe that in post 1945 Europe that any state other than Soviet Russia was the greatest threat to peace is just so laughably absurd as to need no engagement with.
The only point of view more absurd, is to believe that the stationing of US troops in Europe didn't guarantee the safety of mainland Europe from Soviet invasion.
Note also the incredibly rude barracking of Farage by avowed Europhiles like Verhofstardt. These are people to whom the realities and facts of the last 50 years are a mirage and whose concept of debate and freedom of speech is one in which you're a free to debate the brilliance of their ideas and free to speak to the perfection of their vision.
Verhofstadt and his ilk are some of the most dangerous people to stalk the continent since 1939 and for the sake of the freedoms, liberty and peace of the peoples of Europe they must be stopped.Last edited by judoka_uk; 10/26/2012 5:13pm at .

I don't think Verhofstadt would disagree with that, after all he was one of NATO's biggest fans in his career, pre-Bush Jr, whom you have to admit made a mess of transatlantic relations. Blair and Verhofstadt were palls and allies before V started to promote the idea of an EU defense policy, he was always one to forge ahead forgetting he's not secured sufficient backing.
Farage is a demagoge who loves to troll the parliament and because of his style, agenda and lack of clout, noone will treat him as more than a nuisance.
