The World Boxing Association has stripped Anthony Mundine of his interim super welterweight title after he failed to obey an order for a mandatory fight against title-holder American Austin Trout.

Mundine became the mandatory challenger with a decision win over Rigoberto Alvarez in October last year but turned down a world title fight against champion Trout.

The WBA scheduled a purse bid at its Panama headquarters in early April but no-one from Mundine's camp appeared.

Mundine, who turns 37 next week, said he was seeking a three-fight deal that would lead him to the big names, including Miguel Cotto, Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather.

He described Trout as a "no-name".

Mundine is Mun-done. Describing a title holder a "no-name" and not showing up to fight them is called dicktucking around here. He holds the fucking title, Anthony, you hold the interim.

Maybe I have my wires crossed, but if you are looking to fight the biggest names in the world, why would you not plough through the current title holder whom you regard as nothing? It should be easy. But you didn't. You dicktucked. You act as if you are aiming for Pacquiao, Mayweather and Cotto. Keep acting. Keep saying stupid ****. Keep it up.

At least he has his music career to fall back on.

I have been told he is not the goose in real life that he makes himself out to be on TV.

Yeah, I have heard that, too. The problem is that he should be making his public persona one which is enviable, not one that is worthy of deride. Take that film clip for example, he talks about dropping knowledge for his people while the film clip is straight outta Compton, lowrider and everything. Mixed messages. He's a "platinum ryder", what the **** does that even mean?

Mundine, please, review your strategy. You seem to have the unconditional backing of the Koori, so fucking do something worthy.

I guess ... perhaps ... that he knows he's done. He's 37, he's 1 bad loss away from retirement, if I were him I'd want to go out with a bang too, and if that meant versing people like Floyd / Manny (yeah good luck there) then I can understand that.

His problem is he talks ... he should play the mute or something.
