Okay guys. I've been away from Judo for too long. My daughter wants to do her first tournament.
The rules have changed some in the past decade anything you guys can give me heads up on?
She's 10 years old (The evil thing picked me up with O-Goshi the other day and held me in mid air- I'm 188lbs. I'm excited.)

No koka. No gripping below the belt unless in combination/continuation/counter or if opponent has a cross grip over the back. Pin clock is 25s.
California has rules against drop seoi by juniors, I think.

No Koka? Hmmm, I wonder what they're reasoning for that was? They want the matches to get done faster?

I think it was to promote ippon judo over garbage judo/stalling. I forget when the golden score thing came in. Do you know about that? It's sudden death if the scores are tied at the end of the regular match.
