A good friend of mine had a small (2 trucks, 3 people) buisness transporting cryogenic equipement and related stuff between Kirgisia and Germany (Siemens).
Donīt know the amount of money he made; definitely not much. What kind of profits you have made?
Just the normal taxes plus tariffs (which the contracting firm pays for), but there much unexpected bureaucracy involved when transporting goods through another country. Plus there are a lot of bribes to be paid in the former sowjet-states (itīs just part of the economic culture there). If you had any tax issues?
So make sure that you have someone who knows culture and people when exporting/importing from other countries.
Iīll be seeing the guy again in 2-3 weeks; if you have any specific questions, I can ask him. -

Are you assuming Bullshido would be the one and only resource I would when looking into the import/export business?
That would be a pretty silly assumption to make.
As the title suggests, I am interested in hearing about other peoples experiences within that business, given that within an hour of posting the question someone has not only replied but also offered to assist me with any specific questions I have, I think its fair to say the idea of posting this topic in the "Off topic" section of Bullshido is not as "Stupid" as you are trying to imply.
What would be nice is that if you had nothing to offer in regards to the actual topic at hand then perhaps you should save yourself and everyone else some time by refraining from pressing submit button and use the time instead searching for a topic you can actually contribute something worthy to. -

Nope, but that you have decided to make it one of them demonstrates how fucking stupid you are.
I'm not trying to imply anything. I'm being explicit: it is stupid, you are stupid. If you think that someone saying that he has a friend with a couple of trucks is a decent lead, you've already failed.
But the topic IS how stupid you are—as it has been with virtually all your Boff Topic threads so far. And clearly I have lots to contribute. What would be nice is that if you had nothing to offer in regards to the actual topic at hand then perhaps you should save yourself and everyone else some time by refraining from pressing submit button and use the time instead searching for a topic you can actually contribute something worthy to.
