We were talking about this at work. I watched the documentary over the weekend. Crazy as hell!! Those people are absolutely nuts.
Have you see the "Wild and crazy Whites" from West Virginia? I think that is the title. They would fit in well with that croud.
So, being from Amurka, I don't know the history. But I understand that a lot of people over there don't like the "travellers." Can someone please educate me on the traveller drama and why they are so hated. Also, is traveller another term for gypsy?Combatives training log.

because they are a bunch of thieving gypsy bastards basically,
traveller and gypsy get used interchangably, though strictly speaking they shouldn't (travellers are not the same as Romanian gypsies at all), essentially travellers turn up, grab a bit of spare land, turn it into a **** hole, rob the surrounding area blind then move on claiming benefits and not paying tax
I am generalising a little but not a huge amount
edit
I should add, not all travellers in the UK are Irish

Its a quote from the film Snatch
Why don't people like them?
Well where to start really, endemic criminality, theft of land, anti-social behaviour, polluting the countryside, imposing huge costs on tax payers, use of slave labour...
The list goes on and on.
People who live in cities probably don't really have much of an opinion either way, but anyone who lives in the countryside knows that if gypsies turn up in your area then its going to be an absolutely nightmare.
Traveller is a made up term for Irish gypsies invented by gypsy apologists as part of a long running and so far successful attempt to exploit the protections offered by race relations and human rights legislation. The aim was to get the gypsy lifestyle upgraded to an actual ethnicity to use as a weapon against people who object to having their land stolen and lives ruined. They achieved this through two separate court cases in 1988 and 2000 which, established that gypsy and traveller are ethnicities under the law.
