"So, yeah, Zen teachers may well insult you, work you to the bone, hit you with sticks, shout verbal abuse at you, and punch the **** out of you.
And when the ****'s been punched out of you, you might just find that you're far better-off without it." - Vieux Normand

"So in short, BJJ wins again. BJJ, and chainmail." - TheMightyMcClaw

"On bullshido, your opinions are not sacred, neither are your feelings." - Scrapper

"You entered the lions' den. Don't bitch if you get eaten." - danniboi07

"Needless to say, it's much easier to clear a bunch of drunk kids out of your house when you're yelling GTFO and carrying a samurai sword." - DerAuslander

"Eventually, I realized it doesn't matter what art you train, what matters is the method in which you train. Training in an alive manner, under skilled and qualified instruction, is the single most important aspect of gaining martial skill. All else is window dressing." - JNP : Saying it how it is!

He really doesn’t approve, which is kind of the point. Anyway, he made me promise not to put it up.

    Hahahahaaa!
I guess you should have asked for forgiveness, rather than for permission or if there was interest!

It's not that exciting. Only 4 people in the open weight category, so I only had to win 2 matches. The first opponent was a noob, at least I think he was. I pushed him into the floor a lot.

The second one was against a chen style instructor in his late 50s. I didn't pull off anything fancy, I just shoved him out of the area a few times whilst he tried to pull off real techniques but found I was too heavy.

I don't think it's fair to my opponents to put video up in public of me beating them, because they don't get a chance to give their consent. Plus, there are several moments where my t-shirt rides up and from that angle, with that particular camera it creates the illusion that I'm a bit fat.

This might be an inappropriately noobish question but I'm curious about what pushing hands competitions entail. Is it a tai chi competition? Sounds cool.

The rules are like sumo but we wear normal workout clothes instead of topknot + nappy.
