Glad to hear your wrist are doing better but you should probably go to a doctor to be sure your wrist are able to handle the pressure of hitting things because your probably going to be hitting the heavy bag ALOT.
As far as cheap gyms go, Boxing gyms are almost always cheap, widely available, and very effective. -

Thought about it and you're right. Seeing the doctor next week. Hopefully I'll get some good news.
I live pretty close to this place ( http://www.modernfightingartsacademy.com/Default.aspx ) and they seem legit so I'll check it out if I get the greenlight. I don't think they could be any more expensive than a lot of the other schools around here. There was a thread about them a while ago but the guy who said he'd report back never did lol. -

Doctor said I can't train for another six months at least. Still have to get a surgery on the left wrist (doc recommends waiting a year after that one too). Just got MRI of the right elbow, looked at the films and there's lots of white. Is white bad? Making appointment monday when office opens again. Damn.
Any ideas on what to do? I'm sick of just jumping rope and stuff. I want to lift weights and train again but can't even lift a golf club without pain lol. -

How old are you?
White could mean anything. But from the context, I imagine it's not fucking good news.
You really can't play games with your hands. If you **** them up worse, almost everything you do is going to suffer. So if your doctor recommends 6 months off, for the love of god, take 6 months off.
Shadow boxing could be useful, as could sprint training. Get a punching bad and practice your kicking techniques. If you practice proper kicking technique for the 6months - 1 year you wait for your hands to heal, you probably won't ever have to worry about kicking technique again. Or at least it should become deeply entrenched and **** like that.
If weights hurt, then it's a sure sign that you should leave the fucking weights alone.
Good luck. **** sucks when you can't train how you want.

23.
Yeah I was looking up how to read an MRI of the elbow and the white might be loads of scar tissue. Just got two surgeries on my right wrist. Feels OK now but range of motion isn't that good. Probably won't be able to do a push-up again, sadly.
I might get a free-standing bag (they suck I know) because my family is selling the house and I can't be drilling holes into the ceiling and stuff to hang a bag in my room (and my room is pretty small anyway), wouldn't look good for showing the house off and stuff.
I'd love to kick. I've contemplated doing private lessons with someone, explaining the situation with them, and then hopefully they'd just drill kicks and stuff with me.
I've also contemplated just like getting private lessons w/BJJ and just telling the dude to teach me stuff and then doing light rolls as to note hurt my elbows and left wrist. -

Hey, I know where you are coming from. I screwed up my knee, but luckily found out that it is a meniscus tear and fluid in the knee. But the prospect of not training had me freaking out!!!
In your case, sounds like hands are off limits. But that's not a totally bad thing. Because you still have your legs. Footwork is one of the biggest game changers and is always under trained. A fighter with superior footwork is almost untouchable. So, if I were you, I would go to a boxing school, tell them your hands are screwed up and you want to practice footwork. You can still use your hands for shadow boxing. Maybe you just pay for a couple private classes to learn some footwork drills.
In the end you will still have training, great cardio, footwork, and hand speed. Seems like your best bet to me.Combatives training log.
