Koryu systems vary a lot in training methods, techniques, organisation, actually more or less everything.

don't you do "Jujitsu & BJJ"? you should know a fucking thing about it then. (Or has this thread turned into one big troll fest??? I'm starting to think so as PSB said "Real koryu jiujitsu"...)

What is it that you think the choice of romanisation indicates, exactly?

Uh, that you're trolling this idiot. I already said that.

I'm trolling him by using an old fashioned way of spelling the word? That's pretty devastating, do you think he'll cry?

So my question is, is it actually good for self defence?

Im inclined to defend it because it's my primary martial art, but I've seen and read a few things which makes me a little nervous if it came to actually using it- Ive only ever had to once, a few years back, but the guy was wasted drunk and I just put him into a wrist lock which was easy cos it took him about 5 seconds to realise what was happening...

    So yeah, help?

Well not to be obvious but you already used it in a real-life situation so you know it works so I guess all you need to do is more practice and alive sparring

Well yeah; but as has been mentioned here, that situation wasn't really a proper self defence scenario. I imagine most fully grown men could have handled the guy if they were sober- my jujistu allowed me to handle it in a slightly safer way (ie without him getting damaged or damaging anything or anyone else) but I feel like that's it. I've changed club, because the last one was a bit pants, and this one does BJJ style stuff for the last 30 mins, which is pretty much all alive- so I guess my groundwork will probably be much better than the average mugger haha.

Brazillion? Is that like a million brahs? Or double D cups in miliimeters?
