This is a companion piece to the Karate thread, again, Nicholas Pettas, Kyokyushin BB (3rd Dan). In fact, I watched this first on youtube and then the Karate episode.
The start will be familiar to you. He watches excerpts of aikido and laughs his bollocks off. He then travels to Japan and gets to train with some of the Masters. I forget the name of the first Sensei but the second one is the son or grandson of Gozo Shioda.
In addition, there is some explanation of technique which is interesting (well, it was to me) and he gets to sit in for some structural (body-mechanics) analysis which again I found interesting.
Now, I've seen some excessively compliant aikido, which does not inspire confidence in me as the viewer hence it's not worth dying in a ditch over it. That said, this looked pretty good and intelligent to me although I would defer to Dave Humm and DCS amongst others.
Anyway, it's given me some food for thought and I may well explore one or two elements.

Pretty good doco, was hoping they show more of the host throw actual punch and kicks to the masters, to see.
