My cousin the Point Sparrer and the MMA tourney

I came to you once more people of bullshido to seek thy advice in regards of my own blood.
My cousin that you remember by this video

Is once again delusional and wants to enter a MMA tourney (yes the people who he fought were the one who told him about this tourney and yes they are going to fight in it).

The tourney works like an open challenge to all martial arts with open rules so TKD, karate and kung fu will be present but the organizers are the MMA and Muay Thai scene in my country and knowing this styles it will be more of a show of the superiority of full-contact and alive methods over the traditional arts wich is good for the non-bs part of the Martial arts

But my cousin doesnt hear me that his stand up is mostly Point Sparring and that he has no groundwork what so ever after the fight in the video he has crosstrained extensively in SHOTOKAN KATAS, ONE KYOKUSHIN CLASS and SEEING SHITO RYU CLASSES.
I'm going to try to convice him to not get killed but most probably he will still go and I will have to film again. sigh

You know what is funny? You are in many threads shitting on different arts. I am going to say what you would if it wasn't your family

Better an MMA tourney where there are refs to pull the fighters apart and people can tap out if need be. It will probably be over pretty quick for him, hopefully with not too much damage sustained.

Personally I give him some credit for the cojones... if not the brains.

His style and training is actually similar to the arts I was hateful, and yes I have been very critical about him and his style and I have told him that It doesnt work against MMA

Sometimes the best way to learn about the efficacy of your art/training is to test it. Getting your arse kicked isn't some giant tragedy unless you refuse to learn from it. If more people entered tournaments like this one, there would be far fewer shitty martial arts schools.

Sadly, this is what it takes for some to figure out that theirs is not the complete, ultimate, best, superior, etc. martial art. For about ten years, I thought I was doing good because I fought mostly CMA people who were about the same level or a little better than me.
I had my wake-up call (a BJJ, MT fighter) and had to learn to go to the ground better and work from there.

At :58, the guy was being a bit of a jerk charging him like that... but it's definitely good practice for your cousin. I give him credit for the courage to go in and test his training.
