Yeah , I was thinking of different ways to make a shake with it this morning. As far as it being expensive, a 16 or 17 ounce pack cost me around $3.50 at Walmart, so per serving that is expensive for me. I'm on food stamps and have a minimum wage job. I was gonna look for a cheaper brand, cut the servings in half and alternate days I eat it. Just trying to give my opinion for the other poor folk that may run across this thread.

Costco has it for cheap, if that's an option for you.

Nice, I'll check it out when I get off work.

I made a shake this morning with th greek yogurt, if anyone would like to tear it down or use it as an idea for their own recipes:

    1/2 cup milk
    Est. 2 tablespoons peanut butter
    3/4 cup Peanut Butter Cheerios
    1/2 cup frozen blueberries
    1/2 cup greek yogurt
    4 large ice cubes

With the ingredients I used there were about 25 grams of protein, 10 grams of fat, and 30 grams of carbs.

Sounds good Jwilde, but it seems really thick.

Yeah it was pretty damn thick, but I think another 1/2 cup of milk would do a lot for that. When I made it I was worried about making too much so it was just a trial run.

Cheerios??? uh I personally would have to ditch that which in turn cuts out 9g of sugar (See Omegas post) and reduces the carbs, that and dont they make the shake gritty???? bleck. But thats a peronsal choice.

It can be kind of gritty, but that mainly depends on what else you put in the shake. I used to make a shake with Cheerios, protein powder, milk, ice, and peanut butter, and that was way grittier than the one I made with the above recipe. As far as the sugar goesz, I don't think 9 grams is killing me, especially if I watch my sugar intake the rest of the day. And if you use this shake as a meal, I would think you'd need the carbs.

So here's an update on my recipe above:

    Protein: 25 grams
    Carbs: 69 grams
    Sugar: 40 grams

I don't see how you can make a low sugar or carb shake since even fruit and lowfat milk have fairly high sugar content. I was thinking of replacing the Cheerios with another fruit so as to get a better form of carbs, but that would increase the sugar intake... I'm so confused. Maybe this would be a good shake for after a workout since Taebo said high carbs are good then so your muscles don't eat the protein for energy they need.

@Gary Busey: first and foremost, I love the username lol. But let me know if you try that recipe, which one you try, and how it works out. The first one said don't use skim milk because it messes with the taste, but when I looked at my pack of Fage, the first ingredient is skim milk.
