'Wise Warrior' Cheltenham UK
They claim to be teaching Aikido, Karate, 'Japanese sword' and Self defence. They also hold seminars on 'Kobudo' teaching Tonfa and Jo:
They're an offshoot of the BAMA, discussed in another thread http://www.bullshido.net/forums/showthread.php?t=60732
on here for the same reasons, although they've tried very hard not to show any links with that school as its reputation is trashed.
I thought since they're a separate place, they deserved their own thread.
As far as I can see, they have no lineage in anything they're teaching, it's all basically made up. Bullshido.
Tell us more:
- Who taught them and assessed them for Dan Grade?
- Do they carry Personal Indemnity Insurance for claims against injury by their students?
- Do the Students pay for MA Insurance annually?
- If so, to whom? If not, why not?
- Are they trained in Emergency Aid? Do they have the (in-date) Certificate?
- Are there Syllabi for Aikido, Karate, Self-Defence Classes, Kobudo?
- Is the Kobudo kata based? If so, where did it originate?
That'll do for a start.
No idea, don't imagine they've got any of those safeguards in place, or proper syllabus.
Where's the Bullshido? I don't see them claiming to be something they're not.
What's the problem with kobudo seminars?
Because they have never learned any of that stuff from a legitimate source. It's all been learned from Pete Delane, a mad narcissist 'Master' who's been discussed on another thread and on many other forums. And he made ot all up. The issue is, they don't mention him anywhere on their website. And that's dishonest.
But you have nothing at all to base this on, right? Ever been to one of their classes or been taught by one of their instructors?

I trained for a long time with the BAMA. I knew the two head instructors of Wise Warrior very well. And I know for a fact that what they're teaching is bullshit. And that they're a front for the BAMA, trying to recruit people into the same cult.
So your problem is what? That they're teaching people non-combat-effective martial arts? You're going to be starting a lot of threads about a lot of clubs if that's the case.
I read the Delaine threads a while ago, while I was looking for a place to train in Nottingham. His schtick was rip off membership fees, forced one-on-one tuition at exorbitant rates, and the no cross training rule. That pretty much correct? I don't see any sign off the website that this new crowd are doing that. They're pretty clear about price and the fact there's no membership required. If you've got evidence that they're lying in that respect then that's what you need to be posting here.
No, it's that they're advertising Aikido, Japanese Sword etc when they've got as much business teaching it as you or I.
And that they don't mention they're part of a cult.
Well, if you want it to stay in this forum you must back up your claims.
