Anyway, I'll ask around when I get there and see if this is enforced, although I very much doubt it is.
In Thailand anything goes if you have enough money to help make a policeman look the other way, especially in Phuket where a lot of the Martial arts world seem to congregate.

You would not believe the number of tourist deaths in that place, the whole place is run by somevery shady people.

Put it this way, if there is money to be made in MMA, you will see it in Thailand, legal or not.
I think Silviu Vulc is one of the MMA trainers there, has a Sambo background, looks solid stuff. He has a blog here http://samboformma.com/

I heard he left for the UK last month which is a shame as I was really hoping to pick up some Sambo leg locks, although they have just had someone called Barry Robinson join the camp who is apparently an excellent boxing coach, so I look forwards to that.

I trained at Sinbi a few years back but that looks like it has got very commercialised, every photo see them put on FB shows about 50 plus students at the camp, and I know the camp is pretty small, so that put me off. PTT on the other hand is a pretty new camp so I am hoping student numbers are low.
