    Movie Night at My House

We're in the process of educating a young man (26) in movie classics of all kinds, so we've watched things like "The Professionals" and "Red Sun" and many others.

    Tonight we'll be watching

    Circle of Iron

the idea for which came from Bruce Lee, who died before he could make it. It's not great, and the lead can't act, but it is an interesting idea and does have some decent martial arts in it. The most unusual character is Eli Wallach as a disembodied head floating in a barrel of oil.

Interesting. A few weeks ago in a similar quest, I sent a young friend of mine to go watch The Graduate, after hearing his story of older-married-woman-with-a-daughter intrigue.

"Lawrence of Arabia". Every time I see it, I see more in it. Absolutely superb performances from Jack Hawkins, Claude Rains, Arthur Kennedy. All of 'em. Classic.

wait wut? I remember that movie being black and white.

No, I was thinking of Bob le Flambeur.
The two movies have similar scenes; stealing a car with a huge king ring.
I guess thats the cool way to steal a car in France.

To OP please watch this Movie. Not enough people have seen this movie.
    Fulltime Killer.

This one too I love this one.
    The Science of Sleep.

So we just finished watching Circle of Iron. I had forgotten many of the details and how unintentionally funny it is, but our young friend really enjoyed it.

Next week is Sonny Chiba in Sword of Doom.

After I came off the road a few months ago, I rescued some stuff from storage and there were about 50 VHS tapes. I don't have that player any more and don't want to keep these films, so we're watching them one last time before giving them to a thrift store. So these are all my personal picks. It includes all my Carlos Saura flamenco movies (which I now have on DVD). If you haven't seen Carmen with Antonio Gades and Cristina Hoyos, you're missing a treat (also includes Paco de Lucia, the great guitarist, in a hefty role).

I really like Alain Delon so maybe I'll try to find this. I just watched Red Sun last week which was his American film debut. You know, the one with Toshiro Mifune and Charles Bronson. Delon was very good, and beautiful to look at, too.

Probably one of my favorites, and I don't even feel guilty about it.

My favorite show, and one of my favorite movies
