Why the hang up on Kata?
Also as far as egos go I have found very little in the gym when it comes to combat sports we are constantly reminded how much we have left to learn.

No, you really wouldn't be "trained in MMA..". This is 100% of the problem and why bullshido exists.

Hey, If you want some tradition and stuff

Try Kyokushin, a Kyokushin off-shot like Shidokan or Kudo Daido Juku

Thanks Gents. I'll take a class or two for sure. I appreciate the suggestion.

I take it you are implying that MMA is a unique art in itself. Please correct me or explain more in detail what you mean please. Thanks.

There is a stereotype about people who have done no training presuming that martial arts that drape themselves in mysticism hold an advantage over those that trade in verifiably reliable techniques tested against actively resisting training partners.

Oh, and Muay Thai is older than Wing Chun, if your interest is a traditional art. So is boxing.

Fortunately, you're fixated on Judo, so you'll experience one of the gold standards of alive training. I suspect you'll note a stark difference between it and whatever spiritual striking art you train in.

    You'd be wrong.

It is a rule set with specific parameters that is slowly turning into its own art. Training multiple striking arts, TMAs, and mixing them "after years of training in different arts" is not MMA.

I do not train multiple arts and say "oh yeah I do Hung Ga after years of chun and boxing" It's funny how quite afew traditional martial artists say it happens concerning MMA.
