Mango puts both of those insipid fruits to shame.

I was watching Jimmy Carr (I think, I've been watching a shitload of stand up recently) the other night talking about asking for a lager and lime at a Scottish bar and the bartender replied, "we don't serve cocktails". Sounded better from the comedian's heavy attempt at an accent.

On a side note, when I did drink alcohol one of my favourite drinks was a Carlton Draught with a splash of lime. I'd get the **** paid out of me, had a few bartenders ask me if it was for my boyfriend, lol, haha, funny bastard, but I was the one able to stomach my beer at 8am the next morning (because it was a sweet delicious breakfast) while everyone else was struggling to hold the contents of their stomach in the morning summer sun. Years later it had become a fucking premixed beer and everyone was raving about it, fucking hypocrites.

I once bought Well's brewery Banana beer. Its disgusting, so I would recommend avoiding that.

Frankie Boyle, yep, watched a lot of him, as I said, been watching a shitload of comics recently, mostly from the UK. I just find the UK comedians that much more appealing, I imagine because my parents are both Pommy.

Lee Nelson, Jimmy Carr, Frankie Boyle. Any other recommendations, judoka_uk?

Chick drink night? Okay, I'll have a peach margarita please. And pears kick the life out of apples, I agree.

Lager and lime is just wrong.

Blue Moon with a slice of orange however is quite divine. One of my favourite things about the States, well, that and Mexican food.

My favourite thing about the States is that we're separated by 3000 miles of water.

Yeah, but I bet he would totally rock some pear brandy when he ran out of martini stuff.

that said, I can't say that I've had a pear that was better than the best apple I've ever had. just saying.

    Mango's are okay but....
    1) they're not as easy to cut up; that big ass seed kind of sucks
2)apples and pears are better portioned; a single mango can be a bit too much at times

The OP and everyone posting is overlooking some important details to this discussion:
-the type of pear and apple must be considered.
1)all pears are better than shitty granny smith apples
2)red delicious or golden delicious apples are better than those nasty pears with the brown skin
3)your basic green pear is better than most apple varieties
4)apples transport and store better than pears so if you are choosing a fruit for a trip consider where it will be stored and the potential for bruises; bruised pears can turn into a mushy mess surprisingly quick.
