    Milk and squats

Gave me the shits. I didn't even do a full gallon. Half one day half the next and I had masses of gas and the shits both days. Is it likely that if I start slower I can build up to a gallon without turning into a disgusting stench factory?

You might be lactose intolerant. You might've just shocked your system.

I'd try easing into it for a few days: a glass a day for a day or two, then two glasses, and so on. If that doesn't work, get lactase pills. If those don't work, try Lactaid milk. If that doesn't work, you'd probably have to eat an ungodly amount of eggs.

Jeez I grew up in Wisconsin and I think that's a lot of milk. Gotta ask why so much?

Also might consider goat's milk. It doesn't affect people with light lactose intolerance.

Gotcha, and no it's not. Like 1point said try and ease into it, even if you aren't lactose intolerant if your body isn't used to processing that much dairy it'll tear you up.

If you haven't already heard of this I'd suggest getting a book called "Super Squats." It's about drinking milk and adding weight to your squats everyday you workout. It's a full body workout you're only supposed to do 2 or 3 times a week so that's nice too.

Whatever happened to Teh El Macho....?

Milk and Squats was virtually his catchphrase.
"So, yeah, Zen teachers may well insult you, work you to the bone, hit you with sticks, shout verbal abuse at you, and punch the **** out of you.
And when the ****'s been punched out of you, you might just find that you're far better-off without it." - Vieux Normand

"So in short, BJJ wins again. BJJ, and chainmail." - TheMightyMcClaw

"On bullshido, your opinions are not sacred, neither are your feelings." - Scrapper

"You entered the lions' den. Don't bitch if you get eaten." - danniboi07

"Needless to say, it's much easier to clear a bunch of drunk kids out of your house when you're yelling GTFO and carrying a samurai sword." - DerAuslander

"Eventually, I realized it doesn't matter what art you train, what matters is the method in which you train. Training in an alive manner, under skilled and qualified instruction, is the single most important aspect of gaining martial skill. All else is window dressing." - JNP : Saying it how it is!

Milk is unnecessary. Get your protein from other sources. That's pretty much all I have.

I normally drink real milk--unhomogenized, fresh from the cow--but recently drank a half gallon of "normal" supermarket "milk" and was reminded of another variable here.

People can often have major digestive trouble with homogenized, pasteurized, supermarket milk that they don't get from actual milk. If you can find the real thing, it's very very different and worth a try.
