Of course establishing an underhook on the (his) right is necessary before he makes his move; at 0:14 there's still time. Hell, I'd rather take my chances passing on on the left with just a handful of your left sleeve and just swing my left leg out and around more, than try to cut on the right like he did. Smash half seems achievable. Maybe.

Edit: let me clarify before I get flamed :) I don't know what this is called BTW, but left leg kicks away from the other player kinda like a side kick, and swings out and around to your own left (hopefully) clearing the dude's left leg.

more likely it would have just initiated a scramble and ended up with me lazily returning to guard like a douchebag.
    Douche.

Without securing the underhook on Kint's left arm, the Knee Slice to the left will just get his back taken.

Regardless, the angle of the Knee Slice Pass changes slightly to make it work property when the guy has achieved the DLR Hook. To hit that pass with the DLR Hook you need to control the knees and cut across the thigh rather than the hip. You should also maintain a decent posture and hip/leg pressure while methodically and purposfully moveing a hand from the knee to the head to secure the pass.

    Devil is in the detail.

Sure, I got that (see my last post)

Helpful. Thanks. Assuming instep shifts down to the hip after the cut?

...that depends on 1) the reaction you get to the Shin Slice, 2) whether your opponent is up trying to attack with the DLR or is back on his hip.

DLR counters and transitions are for a different thread however so Kint's thread doesn't get too far off topic.

And my DLR is pretty basic, so you or JNP are probably better suited to writing something on that.

At about :20 I'd recommend the leg drag pass. I can't really see what Kit's other leg is doing, but the way Kit is sitting on his side invites that pass.

My FLIP-cam was dead. I'll charge it up and get some vid of the two different Knee through passes on Saturday. Sorry.
