    Hell yeah! Hell no!
    Second vid was terrific.

First vid (Red + White Belt??). Well, I recall a Trad JJ 7th Dan mixing solid JJ with some, er, 'dubious' ideas in which he mixed TCM and Ayurvedic. No. Just no. I may have been the only person who knew he'd confused the 2.

He then proceeded to demo No Touch KO. Well, I won't bore you with that nonsense so why do I mention all this guff? IMO, he had to teach the group (nearly all Trad JJ BBs) something so he decided on the esoteric and had persuaded himself of its merit. As you American's say, "He'd drunk the Kool aid".

There's a strong element of this in the first vid. The compliancy of the uke, has only encouraged the delusion of Mr Red + White.

Although I find myself confused as to why US Judoka seem to have no problem with this guy. Hail fellow well met and all that.....

I am all for freedom of expression and the right to an opinion and all that, but seeing someone wearing senior rank doing something awful like that makes me want to vomit. In any of the many Judo dojo I have been in, I have never witnessed such BS on the mat. And this garbage was posted in public? On YouTube?

I feel sorry for the black belt he was training with - you knows how much time and money he's spend to achieve 'mastery'. Sad that these guys still exist.

The skill level of his uke we don't know. He's just going along for the ride with his teacher.

Did he pronounce seio nage as "see-o-ee"? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought it was pronounced "say-o". It's said just after a minute into the 8:22 of awfulness.

that would be a common mispronunciation in my experience. so common, in fact, I'm not going to go back and listen. Watching most of it is painful enough as it is.

Thank you for posting this. There are "judo" instructors in my area that are truly horrible and have convinced students/people of their "fuzzy logic" ways of doing things. Tai-sabaki is not a skill to be wasted. Thnx again for the illustration Mr. Tripp.
