    Boxing question

Is it normal for boxing gyms to force you to spar with superior boxers?

I'm quitting my old hobby(competitve DotA gambling) because no matter how much I shut my mouth, people still figure out that I am a league above them and I have been forced out of most local tourneys. Not to mention even my team has figured out that I am much much better than them and now force me to play games with weak team mates to balance me out. My old 10wins-1loss has turned to a 1win-1loss, on bad days.

I am thinking of going back to boxing. I'm saving up money for a boxing gym membership(much cheaper than a per session fee) and exercising to get ready. When I boxed last time, my trainer told me I had "potential" and than made me spar with people who'd been training for years, which is why I quit. If I shut my mouth can I realistically avoid that situation again? Is it possible for me to skirt the notice of the trainers so I never have to be with people who are as skilled or better than me? Because I love sparring with people who had trained for only as long as me. They were pathetic and every spar stroked my ego. Very few of them listened to the explanations of the trainers on what punch to throw when or do anything about the initial bad punching form we all start with.

    How is this boff topic?

Back on topic. How hard did they spar with you? You can learn a lot sparring with people who are better than you, so long as they don't just beat you up.

    second edit

If you want to stroke your ego you'll never get as good as you can be. HTFU or be doomed to suck

Why do you want to box again? Based on your previous statements, you like LARPtastic stuff, and beating on people you're better than. Really, ninjitsu is what you're looking for.

In all seriousness, get over your ego, learn to box, and maybe someday you'll be really good. You'll kick lots of a**and it'll be a real and legitimate achievement.

He was punching him like the collective karmic debt he'd accrued was coming to collections, mostly on his face.
