According to the thread in the striking forum, unless he is black, yes. The power of the Shaolin Kool-Aid is strong. I know people who sold jeeps, cars, and filed bankruptcy to go.

Somehow my logic couldn't get me out of my Bullshido, but it kept me from spending $4,000 for a 3 week excursion.

    Go figure.

I looked at a couple and remember thinking the plane tix were more than room/board/training for six months. Planning on doing it for a retirement present.

3,000 (Pound Sterling) seems like a lot to me. Once you get out of Beijing (where money slips through your fingers surprisingly easily), you would be hard pushed to spend 10 a day.

That School is clearly Minted. Wonder what the Sifus do with all that money? If certainly isn't spent on upkeep of the school, if I read the OP correctly.

This actually makes the coolaid stronger as to fight off the regret and cognitive dissonance once you get there, you have to buy in hard.

This is why everyone needs to read the book American Shaolin before getting the "Train like a Monk" bug.

I've seen American Shaolin the movie...which also has a fake Shaolin master.

I think our Fake means this book though which I have not yet read but would like to get around to: http://www.amazon.com/American-Shaol.../dp/1592403379
