Masterbating in the sauna will also generate a sweat, but sweating will not make you a better fighter only moderatly more slippery.

Karate, is your way out my friend or kickboxing its what I think, train hard stay safe.
Also you will have to visit dojo/gym first to decide.

shum, i voted for muay thai.

reason being after taking both shotokan and muay thai i have found that the two arts compliment each other in that shotokan's emphasis on proper form (i.e. kata and kihon training) really help with developing good habits in a sparring setting.

muay thai, with it's body conditioning will help you maintain proper form in karate, now see point A.

BUT because you can only do 1 art, a good MT school will also teach you proper form and give you the physical conditioning aspect as well as introducing several new weapons into your arsenal (i.e. elbows and knees).

and there are also a variety of kicks, not all swing kicks are full power, there is also the 45 degree swing which is not too different from the shotokan round house, the side push kick is almost identical to the side thrust kick, and you can use the push kick as you would a front snap kick.

as for the concerns of old age and MT's effects, unless you are planning on gaining entry into K1 or Pride there really isn't anything so strenuous that you are guaranteed to blow a knee out or will **** up your back forever. at least nothing more that any hard art with bag work and sparring would do.
