I am a decent pistol shooter. And by decent I mean I'm at least as good as the average police academy grad.

Now, for me to hit a kneecap sized target at 21 feet, requires a careful aim and the hope that the pistol doesn't send the bullet off target(pistols aren't that accurate).

Now, for me to hit that se target at the same distance and the target is advancing towards me and I'm under stress, I ain't hitting ****.

My best shot is center mass.

I agree with your post but this little bit bugs me because I'm anal.

Yes, a careful aim would be required and would be impractical in a self defense situation. But the pistol won't send the bullet off target. Only the shooter can do that with poor technique. Pistols are plenty accurate. If you're talking a tiny little derringer or something, I can see your point. Poor accuracy with modern pistols is the shooter's fault, not the gun's fault.

Sorry for the derail. I can't help it.

I said they'd go this route early in the thread especially, if there was a danger of the other charges failing.

With Holder's Justice Department, anything is possible. It is more politicized than it's been in generations. You have to back to Kennedy, Johnson or Nixon to find anything comparable.

My 9mm shoots 1.5 inch groupings at 21 feet even when shooting from a seated position using arm rests.

An inch of error is plenty to miss a kneecap sized target.

Dammit, I shouldn't argue because it's irrelevant and I don't even disagree with your main point but I.......just........can't...........help.......... .myself..........

What kind of pistol are you shooting? What barrel length? Odds are your pistol is capable of much better than 1.5" at 7 yards. Most of that 1.5" is probably the shooter's limitations, even with a rest.

Regardless, the statement that pistols aren't that accurate is false.

My hi point c9 is less accurate than my Beretta m9 but more accurate than my s&w snub nose .357

And as I said. I'm as good as the average police academy grad. Not a top shot contestant.

    Does that settle the argument?

Yeah, i'm still a little surprised.
I understand we aren't getting the full story but the claim seems flimsy based on what i have seen.
