I once had the chance to do some staff fighting like in the video and it was great fun.
Looking up the rules, uhm why are you doing 10 second bouts? I guess you can have more rounds this way but I personally donít like the "stop and go" action. I donít know anything about staff-fighting though, so just wondering
Maximum 10 seconds rule applies to our tui shou and san shou too. This is to express the yiquan characteristic - making the fight short and fast, stressing abilities and skills which are necessary in situation when there is no time for longer figth, no time for tactics, just just contact and issuing power. In fact most rounds at our competitions are finished much earlier than in 10 seconds. What you can see at our videos is not result of editing. It is really so short.

All China yiquan tournament will be organized in Handan city, Hebei province, 2-4 October 2013.
There will be demonstrations, lectures, tui shou and san shou competitions.
Tui shou tournament will be open for people from outside yiquan - for example taijiquan, shuai jiao etc.
San shou tournament this time will be open only for yiquan practitioners. There rules are not announced yet.
Starting from 2014 YIQUAN.COmpetitions tournaments will be divided into 2 events: YOU CAN FIGHT and STAND UP ELITE
The idea of YOU CAN FIGHT is to make it possible for almost anyone to participate at least in some of the formats included:
- Easy Tui Shou (Fixed position tui shou),
- Free Step Tui Shou,
- Easy San Shou (light contact)
Starting from 2015 YOU CAN FIGHT will also include long staff and short stick fighting.
2014 YOU CAN FIGHT event (sparring tests status) will be organized in Warsaw, Poland on Saturday, May 10th.
STAND UP ELITE will be the place for full contact stand up confrontation.
In 2014 small STAND UP ELITE event (sparring tests status) will be organized in Warsaw, Poland on Saturday, June 14th.
