    Hell yeah! Hell no!

I'm looking for training partners in or near Redlands, California

I love WMA. I find it to be a means of recapturing elements of my European heritage that have otherwise been lost, its also a hell of a lot of fun! Unfortunately I have not had much luck finding anyone in the area that shares this passion. My interests focus around Longsword, saber and single stick fencing. I know we have some bullies in California but do we have any in or near the Redlands/San Bernardino area who might be interesting in putting together a WMA study group?

    Hello-

I haven't been on here in a while, so sorry for the late response!

Die Schlachtschule is located in the north San Bernardino, and meets twice weekly. We exclusively study Lichtenauer's tradition, focusing on longsword, sword and buckler, dagger, wrestling, halfsword and spear, and pollaxe.

If you're still interested, start with www.schlachtschule.org and the contact information should be there. Let me know if you have a hard time finding it. Also, there is a Schlachtschule Yahoo group.

We meet n Monday and Wednesday from 7 to 9 pm, and formal practice with the instructor present two Sundays a month.

    Regards,

    Joseph

There's what I know of Cali's HEMA scene.

Thanks for the information KG! That is very close to me, actually only 5 blocks from the gym I teach at, if the information on Bloss's map is correct. Because of my own teaching and training obligations I don't think I could make it every week but I could probably attend a couple times a month, should definitely be able to make the two sundays a month. Who should I contact for details?

I don't necessarily like methodology the teacher of that school (Schlacht Schule), but it's better than nothing.

I live in the San Fernando Valley and do a random assortment of WMA including long sword, medieval\renaissance crappling, and Vigny stick fighting. I'd be down to do single stick as well. Redlands is a bit far for me but I'd be willing to meet up in Pasadena or La Crescenta or something. I haven't trained since being in Africa but I'm back now and ready to scrap.
