FFS noone will give you a heads up for doing WC, if you still insist on doing it, do it, nobody cares. You asked for opinions you got them and you're being a dick about it.
you read none of the things I pointed you to did you?
I'm not really interested in throwing someone down for sport.
If you want to learn striking instead of grappling, ok, then look for a good striking art.
Opinion on here is that WC will not teach you to either throw, kick or punch effectively.
i hear you JohnnyCache, I'm going to try out the Judo class. I'd like to try out this BJJ school, I just don't know if you can get a free class or anything. The only money I'll have dished out is for the JKD/Kali seminar I'm attending this weekend that the WC instructor is hosting, and that's only $25.
ashkelon: I just got done reading over the link you gave me about Judo and yes, it got me more interested in it. I posted that comment before I had a chance to look at anything. I'm not asking for anyone to validate WC or the school, I've listened to everyone's opinion on it. Idk what I'm going to do as far as a striking art when I do get a job. The WC instructor is certified to teach Muay Thai and JKD, so maybe I'll get some classes in one of those at that point in time.

Is this the Sifu of the place you're thinking about taking Muay Thai / JKD?
Because that looks like some Mickey Mouse bullshit right there. He's pretending to be Big John McCarthy, for ****'s sake.
WTF is this.

**** if I'd train anywhere who does backyard wrestling BS like that. What's with that 'ring'?
Holy ****. Even through the **** video quality and only having met this guy twice, I'm 99% sure that's him...

Welcome to bullshido where we find damn near EVERYTHING. That is EXACTLY why I asked you about his Muay Thai certification and by whom.
Here's a secret, sports arts are record oriented. The best way to look at a mediocre to great trainer, is how his/her fighters compete.
That beats alleged certification any day of the week.
I know dick about striking (really about grappling, too, but we'll ignore that for a moment) so I have to ask - other than the obvious ridiculousness of the 'ring' and the 'ref' - are the techniques in that video as bad as I think they are or am I holding those guys to way too high of a standard?
